Marvel and Star Wars crossover in Hope Assembles comic book series

The collaboration is coming to mark 50 years of Star Wars.

Next year, Star Wars will be celebrating its 50th anniversary, all as Episode IV - A New Hope arrived in cinemas in 1977. With this being the case, Lucasfilm and Marvel Comics are coming together to mark the moment with a collaborative comic book series that brings together a galaxy far, far away and Earth's mightiest heroes.

The comic run is known as Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles and it's a five-issue limited run that is written by Kevin Smith and sees the two major universes coming together for an adventure like nothing else.

The exact synopsis of the story has yet to be outlined, but we are told the following about what it will be looking to cook up.

"As the Avengers, Spider-Man, and more team up with the iconic Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Chewbacca, Doctor Doom will ally himself with the likes of Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire."

The comic series will come with a five-part connecting cover too (one part for each issue), meaning if you collect the full saga, you'll be able to create a tapestry that features Marvel and Star Wars icons as drawn by David Marquez, who is also assigned as the artist for the comic too. You can see this connective cover below, and as for when Hope Assembles' first issue will arrive, all we are told is it will be debuting in late January 2027, so we should expect the firm date to be shared as we near the arrival date.
