You can now link your Destiny profile to a Blizzard account

PSN and Xbox Live options are also available.

As you may know, Destiny 2 on PC will be supported by Battle.net, and now we know that you can also link your Bungie profile to a Blizzard account. This was already possible with a PSN or Xbox Live account, but in preparation for the upcoming beta, Bungie has finally added support for Blizzard accounts.

Players can also link one of each (although note that's it's no more than one) accounts to a single profile, allowing the same profile to be associated with all three versions of the game. You can find some helpful tips at Bungie's official website, and don't forget, Destiny 2's beta is starting soon, all the details of which you can find here.

One Reddit user by the name of Aerogizz, however, has posted a warning about linking accounts this way, as they've had some issues, which are as follows:

"I logged onto Bungie.net with my account that is 8 years old to check if my beta code was ready. It wasn't and I noticed in the top right corner I could link my Blizzard account. I thought I'd do that because I'm getting it on my PC as well and Xbox because of the release dates being different. Well, doing so actually created a NEW account while I was already logged in. And then I proceeded to link my gamertag to that new account without really knowing what was going on."

"By linking my gamertag, it removed it from my main account. This orphaned my 8 year old account and it is permanently inaccessible. With the new account, I lost all of my codes, including the beta code."

"There were no visible warnings that this could or was going to happen. If you want to link your Blizzard account, go to your settings and it should be in there. I'm pretty salty about this. I hope this finds anyone else and saves them from the trouble."

In an edit to the post Aerogizz writes that some have said that it does indeed give you a warning about an account already being linked, but either way, their tale should serve as a cautionary one to be careful when doing so.

Destiny 2 is launching on September 6 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Will PC be your platform of choice though?
