We'll be seeing "a new era for Bungie and Destiny 2"

Bungie looked ahead to the future in a new update, which also ushers in the Season of Opulence for Destiny 2.

The future is unknown for developer Bungie and their Destiny franchise, since the team split from Activision at the beginning of this year to go solo, but it seems as if Bungie is already looking ahead to the future of the series, at least according to a recent update.

As the studio explains, their focus right now is "on Opulence. But after the Season has launched and Raid belts have been awarded, we'll be looking deeper into the future, and sharing with you more about a new era for Bungie and Destiny 2". What this means exactly, only time will tell, but it seems to point to big things.

This Season of Opulence is spicing things up in Destiny 2, rounding out the Season of the Drifter, so Destiny 2 is far from over. There's still plenty to see, and for those who want to read our speculation on what's next after the Activision split, check out our article on the matter.
