We reported earlier this week that there was an easy solution to the desync problem with the Nintendo Switch's left Joy-Con, and now Nintendo has responded, telling Polygon that there was no "design issue" with the Joy-Cons.
Nintendo also said that it had fixed the connectivity problems and that future consoles won't have them. The issues that had arisen were a result of "a manufacturing variation" and only affected a small number of units, according to them, and "no widespread proactive repair or replacement effort is underway."
"There are other reasons consumers may be experiencing wireless interference. We are asking consumers to contact our customer support team so we can help them determine if a repair is necessary. If it is, consumers can send their controller directly to Nintendo for the adjustment, free of charge, with an anticipated quick return of less than a week," Nintendo added.
