Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to bring people into theatres, as it has rapidly become not only the highest-grossing movie of the year, but also one of the biggest box office draws ever. After another weekend at number 1 in the US, despite plenty of newcomers to cinemas, the record-breaker looks set to continue its storm, earning more millions for Sony, Disney, Marvel, and Tom Holland.

Currently, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has a global total of $2.2 billion. Within a couple of weekends, it's expected to overtake Avatar: The Way of Water as the third highest-grossing movie ever. In the US, it also has the fourth spot, but is only $4 million off overtaking Avengers: Endgame and putting itself in the top three.

Variety holds firm that Spider-Man: Brand New Day could be the first movie to top $1 billion in the US alone. There's no sign of it slowing down so far, and the movie has plenty of time left to pick up those extra millions.

Elsewhere in the box office, Insidious: Out of the Further managed to give horror fans another reason to go to the cinema, drawing $60 million worldwide. Speaking of horror, the genre's biggest hit this year, Obsession, continues to see success, as it has surpassed $500 million worldwide, making it the biggest original film of the decade.
