New Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night update

The development of Koji Igarashi's (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night) upcoming Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is coming along smoothly, and yesterday the team posted a new update on the shaders they will use in the game.

Since it was a highly successfull Kickstarter project - it reached $5,545,991 after asking for $500,000 - and backers are allowed to give their opinions every now and then. Last month they got to vote which shaders that should be used out of three options.

Igarashi and his team has also updated the main character Miriam and shows a 360-degree turnaround of the latest model. This is what he has to say about the latest updates:

"Like the shader poll results, we've decided on Character Shader 3 / Background Shader 3. Since the new character shader was so well received, we've also made a video of Miriam's 3D model, reflecting some of the most recent changes we've made.

We thought cosplayers would especially like to see the back view of her design. The camera is the only thing that moves in the first half of the video; in the second, we've demonstrated the shader effect by moving the light source, as well. Please enjoy.

- IGA"

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be released a year from now, and if it's even remotely as good as Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, it will be well worth your hard earned money. Here are the winning shaders for the the game and how it actually will look.
