Pokémon Pokopia has been one of the few Nintendo releases that caught the company off guard with its success, although it soon changed its stance. From minimal pre-launch marketing to becoming one of the Nintendo Switch 2's flagship titles, and a real console-seller on the platform.
Nintendo has now announced that Pokémon Pokopia has sold five million copies since its launch. And it's an impressive milestone. These figures take into account both the physical format (game key card) and digital copies via the eShop and will no doubt be updated with new figures very soon.
The game's first DLC (Expansion Pass Part 1 - Bubbly Basin) was released on 5 August, with Part 2 scheduled to arrive in late 2026, and further content planned for the future.
Certainly not bad for an unconventional Pokémon game, which has managed to carve out a niche for itself alongside other Nintendo life sims such as the massive Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.
