Namco Bandai has confirmed that the Call of Duty: Elite-esque service World Tekken Federation will be free at launch with Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
"With Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the team is committed to providing an unparalleled fighting game experience and are proving our dedication to this effort by offering World Tekken Federation free of charge to everyone who buys a copy of the game," said Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing for NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. "Bringing together TEKKEN fans from around the globe in such a robust online community is a first for the fighting game genre and will give veterans and beginners a chance to develop their fighting skills in an exciting new way."
The service that will feature stat tracking, and strategy help to a degree never before seen in a fighting game was first described as a premium service with a monthly fee, but it now remains to be seen if Namco Bandai plan on introducing a fee for the service later on or keep it free. Or perhaps it's a region specific consideration that the service will remain free in Europe and North America.
