The upcoming Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2023 tournament will look a little bit different than expected, as Virtus.pro has now announced that it will not be attending the tournament, and will instead be "committing to enhanced training".

As for why the organisation has made this decision, it has said that it "in the current shape, participation in the tournament will not bring satisfaction to either the team or the fans."

The ESL has since issued its own statement on this matter, and revealed that it will be announcing a replacement team "as soon as possible."
