Are you happy about the gold you made from the auction house in World of Warcraft last week, or the ISK you made from playing the market in Jita in EVE Online? Good for you, but Planet Calypso player NEVERDIE (people take you more seriously if your name is in caps) just purchased a virtual egg from another player for $69 696.

The seller, Deathifier (what's with the death-fixation, guys?) bought the egg back in 2006 from another player for $10 000. And no one even knows what the egg will hatch into! And, most importantly, the egg doesn't even exist!

It should be pointed out that both NEVERDIE (caps!) and Deathifier own valuable virtual property in Planet Calypse - including Club NEVERDIE (caps again!), a nightclub on a virtual asteroid valued at $1 million.

"The sale of the Atrox Queen Egg is another example of the incredibly unique world and economy we offer in our game", Marco Behrmann, CEO of First Planet Company, the developers of Planet Calypso, says in a press release. I'd say. I think I'll stick with hunting down NPC pirates in low-sec in EVE for a bit longer...

Planet Calypso
I bought this piece of armor for one billion dollars. I kid, I kid.
