Producing a big plastic peripheral for your game can cause problems. First of all production is expensive, and the capacity may sometimes be insufficient, not to mention the added cost of transportation. Makes it hard to coordinate a worldwide launch as Activision have found out with Tony Hawk: Ride. The result is that Tony Hawk: Ride will only to for a ride in Germany, UK and US (possibly including Canada).
One would have thought that Activision's experience with Guitar Hero would have helped, but it is obvious they can not supply all markets with their flashy new board peripheral.
