With Activision Blizzard unsure about the future of the Overwatch League and some teams even seemingly set to take the $6 million termination fee, it does sound like this is the final season of the OWL. But the bookmakers don't agree.
As Dexerto reports, betting firm Unikrn Esports has put out its odds for the Overwatch League's return or termination, and as they stand right now, the odds are as follows:
- 1.36 for a return
- 2.80 for termination
What this means is that you will make more money if you bet against the Overwatch League being terminated and shut down, suggesting that bookies believe that teams will look to stick with the OWL and keep running the franchised league despite the buyouts being offered.
