Torn Banner Studio's next game, Mirage: Arcane Warfare, promises to be a blend of melee and magic combat that follows its predecessor, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.
The magic in Mirage gives players the ability to do all sorts of things they otherwise couldn't, such as lifting enemies into the air and turning them into a thin, sticky paste. If magic isn't really your thing the traditional hack and slash still works very well by all accounts.
The melee combat is still the basis of the game and harks back to the style of Chivalry. Along with this it's hopefully going to be the excessive gore and satisfying physics that keep players interested.
Torn Banner Studios recently released this new video feature "Behind the Banner: Blood and Gore (see below):
"The amount of gore in any given moment is based on specifically on the amount of damage you're dealing, the direction it's going and the type of attack being applied" explained studio president Steve Piggott.
Mirage: Arcane Warfare is expected to begin beta testing later this summer.
