Smash Summit 11 has broken new records for competitive Super Smash Bros. after it received yet another wave of donations from fans. The grand prize pool for the competition, which is set to run July 15 - 18, is now $100,000 - a milestone that has not previously been surpassed for esports competitions centered around the all-star brawler. Prior to this, it was Smash Summit 5 that was the frontrunner with a total prize pool of $83,758.
The full list of players to participate in Smash Summit 11 has not yet been revealed, but we do know which players have qualified from Summit Champions League - Season 2. These players include Zain Naghmi, Joseph "Mango" Marquez, Zachary "SFAT" Cordoni, Cody "iBDW" Schwab, Kurtis "moky" Pratt, and Justin "Plup" McGrath. The Rollback Rumble is set to conclude on July 11 and the top finishing players will be able to qualify for the Smash Summit 11. In addition to this, there will also be a handful of other invited players and crowdfunded players added to the line-up.
