This summer has seen a variety of major games and news stealing the spotlight, so much so it's easy to forget developer lemorion_1224 has quietly launched one of the best-selling titles of all-time.
Ever since Meccha Chameleon debuted two months ago on June 10, the game has grown to become a huge hit thanks to its viral nature, and this has led to countless players snagging a copy due to its affordable price on Steam and joining in on the fun. This trend has led to the game selling millions and millions of units, and now another remarkable sales milestone has been overcome.
In a Steam blog post, it has been confirmed Meccha Chameleon has now sold a whopping 20 million units. Yep, in two months, the hide-and-seek experience has sold more copies than most games could only dream of, with it now around five million away from breaking into the list of the 50 best-selling games of all-time, at least judging by the data gathered by Wikipedia that is.
It does seem likely the game will continue to be a success in the months ahead as lemorion_1224 has been steadily adding new content to the game in regular, smaller-scale updates. This means it's more a question of when, and not if, it will overcome the 25 million sold copies milestone and topple other major hits like Phasmophobia and Grand Theft Auto IV.
