It looks like last week's E3 show wasn't the best place to show new mobile game Mario Kart Tour to the world, as Nintendo rather focused attention on its Switch's line up (mostly Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, really). The free-to-start racing game, as Nintendo calls it, was announced in February, but nothing more has been shared on how it looks or plays on Android and iOS devices, as the release date gets closer. But that release window won't change, and the show in LA wasn't the best place to show the game:

"Depending on the game, E3 could or could not be a place to shed light on mobile activity", explains Nintendo of America COO at IGN. "In the case of Mario Kart Tour, we made the decision that there's going to be another opportunity to shed more light on that app, especially shedding light when it's closer to its launch. We continue to be on track to launch it in this current fiscal year for Nintendo."

So, how about shedding more light on what is that other opportunity? The very first mobile Mario Kart will thus release before April 1, 2019, and perhaps it's the likely subject of a Nintendo Direct between now and then.
