Jagex to livestream for 24 hours to raise money for charity

Special Effect to benefit as studio Gunge for Good.
Sammy Cooper 25 February 2016

As part of the UK's biggest charity gaming marathon, GameBlast 2016, members of Jagex Games Studios (the company behind RuneScape), are to hold a 24-hour livestream, with the goal to raise money for Special Effect.

As a donation incentive, for every £5,000 raised, a Jagex moderator will be subject to a gunge tank full of glittery 'unicorn poo.' For last year's GameBlast, Jagex managed to raise over £120,000 for Special Effect, and this year's donation incentive could see them raising even more.

On top of this, there will be a charity auction held, where viewers can get their hands on collectables and tech items. Big-name streamers like B0aty, SKillspecs, Dardanm and Justice will also feature on the livestream, and Gamereactor will be there in some capacity (though probably not getting gunged).

The stream will begin tomorrow, on February 26, at 12 noon GMT, and will last for 24 hours into Saturday. The event will be broadcast on Jagex's own twitch channel.
