Gears of War 3 next April?

Microsoft outed release date by accident
Bengt Lemne 9 April 2010

Originally it was planned that Cliff Bleszinski was to appear on Jimmy Fallon to reveal his next game last night, his appearance was then moved up to Monday at the last minute. But it would appear as if Microsoft let the cat out of the bag a little prematurely about what's in store for us. The release date of Gears of War 3 was for a brief while available on Xbox Live (April, 2011), and it is assumed that Bleszinski will show the first trailer from the game at Jimmy Fallon's show.

Rumours of some of the new gameplay features in Gears of War 3 have also surfaces and they include new Locust foes with tentacles capable of extending into the player's cover, explosives to travel under ground to reach enemies in cover, and under water combat. It is also being speculated that Gears of War 3 could have been ready for release later this year, but that Microsoft opted for release next spring in order to avoid competition with Halo: Reach and Project Natal.
