First FFXIII-2 screen and art hits

Check out Lightning and logo
Gillen McAllister 18 January 2011

After announcing the title this morning, Square-Enix has released the first screen and logo from Final Fantasy XIII-2.

A sequel to 2010's JRPG, the game will hit PS3 and Xbox 360 this year in Japan - no news on a UK release yet. The screen, showing Lightning, is taken from the announcement trailer, which we'll expect to get our hands on shortly. Check out the logo as well - who's the other character?

Along with the art Square-Enix offered a press release that stated:

"FINAL FANTASY XIII-2" is currently in production with an aim for producing high quality game content which exceeds "FINAL FANTASY XIII" in every aspect; namely, a brand-new story which stems from the previous title as well as a battle system which has evolved further since "XIII" - and more. We will be disclosing further details about the new game in the future."

Teasing much?
