The signing of FC Barcelona striker Ferran Torres by Paris Saint-Germain is all but confirmed. Ever since Torres said that "Barcelona has to show they want me" during his celebration tour after scoring the winning goal of World Cup for Spain, it seemed clear that Torres would not renew for Barcelona (his contract ends in 2027) and the club was more than willing to sell him this summer to make some cash for other transfers, like Rodri.
After many rumours, Torres did not participate in his first day of training for Barcelona today, alongside the rest of teammates from Spain (Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Pau Cubarsí, and Pedri). It is only a matter of time, and David Ornstein from The Athletic reports that talks are still ongoing "over a small price gap", but the deal is expected to be finalised this week.
Torres signed for Barcelona in 2022 after playing for Manchester City and his home team of Valencia. The 26 year old could have been the logical replacement for Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona, but it seems inevitable now that Torres will play under Luis Enrique for PSG next season.
