Yoshi's Woolly World will land on Wii U in a month's time, and we've been playing the first few levels and worlds and have had some great fun with the co-op mode. As you can see with the following gameplay clips, the mechanics keep changing and in addition to the gorgeous graphics and sweet music, the game looks deeper and more complete than other recent platformers from Nintendo.
These are gameplay snippets from the first three worlds of the cutest game of the year, including several Yoshi patterns/designs.
World 1 Co-op Gameplay (1-7, 1-6)
In the first half, check out how 'yarn water' behaves, learn how to do stone skipping with a ball of wool and welcome back the watermelon shooting. Second half is all about wood-breaking bombs (which you shouldn't digest) and one of the coolest transformations: Mega Yoshi!
World 2 Co-op Gameplay (2-2, 2-3, 2-7)
First, we have to flip the camera and look behind the wall to solve puzzles. Then, we try to sew and fray a Chain Chomp for different purposes (another new mechanic), and finally we solve another puzzle by 'eating' yarn-fire as a fakir.
World 3 Co-op Gameplay (3-1, 3-2)
Keep an eye on your blood sugar levels during the first half, as we explore a world full of biscuits, chocolate and... buttons? The second half is all about balance between both players, at the end of one of the most beautiful and colourful levels so far. If your eyes can take any more colours, that is.
