Destiny 2's Season of Opulence detailed with new trailer

The Menagerie is one of the many features this season, alongside particularly tough Heroic bosses that don't allow for matchmaking.

Bungie has unveiled some brand new details on Destiny 2's Season of Opulence, available on June 4 to deliver new content to players, and we even have a brand new trailer to go with all of this.

Seasonal ranks for ritual activities will be reset with this season, and there will be new Pinnacle weapons available to earn, with the Iron Banner also set to be updated with a seasonal quest for armour. The Solstice of Heroes event will be returning with new rewards this summer as well.

Those with the Annual Pass will receive the third extension of endgame content too, with Benedict-44 waiting at the Tower to launch the season, giving you your imperial summons and introducing you to the new features. This will also be the final update to the Forsaken calendar, showcasing everything that's come with Season of the Forge, Drifter, and Opulence.

A six-player matchmaking activity called the Menagerie is on the way with the Season of Opulence, and those who defeat it can use the Chalice of Opulence to create an offering of runes in exchange for weapons and armour they desire. You can even upgrade the Chalice for better rewards.

Those who have completed the Forsaken campaign can try out the Menagerie and the Imperial Summons quest, which gives players Power Surge gear at 690 power. Menagerie bosses are also coming to Annual Pass owners in the first month of June, concluding with the arrival of Heroic difficulty. Matchmaking is available for normal difficulty, but for Heroic you'll need a pre-made team, much like how the Dark Hours raid works in The Division 2.

Each week those who own Forsaken will also go on the hunt for treasure as well, with Benedict-44 giving you different objectives yielding powerful rewards, and more content is promised in the future, including new quests, the Tribute Hall, Moments of Triumph, and more.

Are you excited to get stuck in with the Season of Opulence?
