Hideo Kojima sure knows how to build anticipation for a game, as a stream has been active since last night teasing some news for Death Stranding, and after just under 10 minutes of video we have a new trailer and the news that the game is due for release on November 8.

If you were hoping for some crystal-clear clarity on what the game is about, don't hold your breath, as there are still a lot of questions even after all of this new footage of the game. We've seen a motorbike, soldiers setting themselves on fire, and what looks to be a scene recreating a conflict from one of the World Wars, with Norman Reedus' character Sam taking cover behind an old-fashioned tank.

We also get to see some of the stuff we already knew about, like the baby in the case; the floating, spectral beings; and the grassy environments reminiscent of places like Iceland. That said, we did see a bit more gameplay too, as Sam can deploy a ladder to reach higher places, and a rope to rappel down surfaces. We also saw him use a device to detect the aforementioned ghostly figures, and dish out some punches to some enemies.

Story-wise, things are still pretty muddled, but there are only a few months to wait until we can get our hands on the full thing to make sense of it.

Now that the trailer has landed pre-orders are live right here, along with more details on the game, including the fact that it's enhanced for PS4 Pro. As of the time of writing the pre-order page isn't opening, but we assume it'll be ready very soon.

"People have created 'Walls' and become accustomed to living in isolation," Kojima himself writes on the PlayStation Blog. "Death Stranding is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the 'Strand' or connection."

"As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or 'Strands' with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you'll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others."

Has this new trailer reassured you about the game's quality?
