Earlier tonight Gearbox finally confirmed Borderlands 3 and at the same time the studio announced that Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition (as well as texture updates to the games included in Borderlands: The Handsome Collection) would be landing on April 3.

When it does it'll do so with some new weapons, visual improvements, general quality of life upgrades, and four DLC expansions (The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned, Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, and Claptrap's New Robot Revolution).

It's heading to PC (where existing owners will get it for free), PS4, and Xbox One, and Xbox One X and PS4 Pro owners will be able to enjoy 4K textures. Everyone will be getting improvements to the game such as a Borderlands 2-like mini-map, auto-pickups of ammo and the like, new customisation options, and "substantial" tweaks to the inventory system.

You can see what it's going to look like below via a handful of screens and the announcement trailer.
