Tournament organiser BLAST has revealed that very soon competitive Counter-Strike 2 action will be heading back to Portugal for an upcoming event. As part of the BLAST Premier Open Season 2 event planned for September 4-6, we're told that the European country will play host to major action once more, after previously being the selected host for events in 2018, 2022, and 2025. The difference is the three prior tournaments all took place in Lisbon, while the upcoming event will happen in Porto.
Set to be featured at the Super Bock Arena in the country, we're told that the event will bring together 16 of the best teams from around the world and will serve up a prize pool of $1.1 million.
Speaking about returning to Portugal, BLAST Premier's programme director, Anne Banschbach, explained: "Bringing BLAST Premier back to Portugal is a special moment for us. Portugal has consistently delivered events with some of the most passionate Counter-Strike fans in the world, and bringing our events to Porto for the first time is another exciting step in a milestone year for BLAST Premier. We're proud to continue growing our global circuit in new cities, and we can't wait to deliver an unforgettable experience inside the Super Bock Arena this September."
The confirmed teams will be revealed at a later date as will ticketing information for the tournament.
