PS4-exclusive Destiny 2 weapon disabled for PC and Xbox users

Xur accidentally sold the Wavesplitter to those on PC and Xbox One, and rather than losing it, players simply can't equip it until September.

The exotic weapon Wavesplitter is only available for Destiny 2 players on PS4, or at least that should've been the case until that pesky salesman Xur accidentally sold it to PC and Xbox One players this past weekend, forcing Bungie to step in and act to keep it exclusive to Sony's console.

"We're investigating an issue where the Sony exclusive weapon Wavesplitter was made available from Xûr on Xbox and PC," the developer wrote on the game's forum. "We're currently working on a fix. In the meantime, Xbox and PC players who acquired the weapon will be able to use it. After the fix goes live, they will still have it in their inventories, but will not be able to equip it until this weapon enters the general Exotic loot pool in September 2019."

The response on the forums has been rather critical of removing the weapon that has already been given to players, but at least it hasn't been taken from players entirely. This isn't the first time content in the game has been timed exclusive to the PS4 either, and PC and Xbox One players will just have to wait a while longer to use the weapon.

Do you think Bungie should have removed the weapon?
