Anthem streamer banned for "economy exploitation"

Gladd released a YouTube video talking about his ban for farming gear in the game, something that has been addressed by patches.

Anthem has been in the news a fair bit over the last few weeks, as it released on February 22 and has since been talked about a lot with regards to the various complaints players have had with its format and design. Now it has emerged that streamer Gladd has been banned for farming in the game, as he revealed himself in a new video.

Acquiring gear is obviously a big part of Anthem's gameplay loop, as much like in other games like Destiny players are always looking for better equipment. This is something that was addressed when the game's Global Community Manager Jesse Anderson revealed they'd "reduced the chance of high rarity items in non-world event chests in free play."

Gladd farmed the high-tier loot before it was patched, and has now been banned from the game "permanently" for farming, or as the email sent to Gladd phrased it, "economy exploitation". In his video Gladd talks of his surprise considering he's been positive about the game and playing it a lot since before launch, and expresses disappointment at his ban for this reason.

The "exploits" were present all over the internet, especially in places like Reddit, encouraging players to try them so as to get the good loot, although Gladd says that it wasn't a "crazy drop rate" for the really good gear, even if it was a higher drop rate than EA intended. Gladd also clarifies that this is what he believes he was banned for, even if the email he received didn't give specific details on the ban.

Do you think the ban is justified?
