Destiny 2 forces you to start from scratch

Say goodbye to your hard-earned armour, weapons, and more.
Eirik Hyldbakk Furu Editor-in-Chief Norway 3 March 2017

After barely acknowledging its existence, Bungie has finally shared an important detail about Destiny 2.

As we heard last year, Destiny 2 will make us start from pretty much scratch. Bungie has confirmed that your powers, possessions, Eververse-related items, and currency will not carry forward to the sequel. This means that the only thing that will be familiar is how your characters looks.

They found this necessary because they're changing a lot of things both in terms of gameplay and concepts in the sequel, so bringing the old stuff over would be pretty much impossible. The good news is that Destiny veterans will be compensated with some real goodies to reflect their time with the original. Exactly what will be revealed at a later date (E3 is closing in;) )

Is this a dumb or smart move?
