Check out this Chinese Splatoon ripoff

Borrow some assets, add a lick of paint, and hey presto!

China isn't a stranger to the odd ripoff, with various slices of popular culture, even games, often recreated in a way where it's impossible to deny the influence of an established IP. Recently, a Chinese version of Overwatch surfaced, but now it's time for the most shameless clone we've seen in a while.

Twitter user ZhugeEX has made us aware of a new mobile game, and don't worry if you think it looks a bit familiar. It's obviously an attempt to copy Nintendo's Splatoon, and they haven't even bothered replacing some of the key art, level design, or even the music.

ZhugeEX has said that even though Nintendo could easily remove it from existence, they may not be too bothered with it, seeing as they don't have a big presence in China.

You can watch it being played right here and see it in action for yourselves.
