Nintendo 3DS announced

Release within next year, shown at E3
Bengt Lemne 23 March 2010

Nintendo have officially announced the successor to the violently successful Nintendo DS. Nicknamed Nintendo 3DS, it will be a portable device capable of displaying 3D effects without the need of special glasses (we're kind of happy about that). The Nintendo 3DS will be backwards compatible with DS and DSi titles.

The new handheld will first be shown at E3 in Los Angeles this summer (June 15-17), and will be released before the end of Nintendo's fiscal year (March 31, 2011) in Japan.
