Beautiful Game restructured

Championship Manager jobs go to China
Bengt Lemne 26 November 2009

Eidos and Square Enix have confirmed that 80 per cent of the jobs at Beautiful Game Studios (Championship Manager series) will either be cut or relocated to China. Ever since Eidos parted ways with original developers Sports Interactive (who are now very successful with the Football Manager series), they have struggled to have any success with the Championship Manager brand.

Control of the Championship Manager brand will remain in London and Square Enix / Eidos will continue to try different approaches in order to compete with Football Manager.

The publisher did not say whether the recent "pay what you want" campaign had been successful or not as they deemed it to early for such judgement. But clearly cutting jobs and relocating isn't a healthy sign.
