RuneScape community consulted

Power to the Players initiative launched.
Mike Holmes 14 January 2014

Jagex has just announced a new initiative whereby the community will become more involved in decision making for the ongoing MMORPG, RuneScape.

Power to the Players is a new in-game polling system that poses questions to players, the first of which is a 'Dragonstone' poll being aimed high-tier members, with a choice to be made between two popular fan requests: "Invention skill vs Elf City - which do you want first?"

"The launch of Power to the Players marks the exciting start of democratisation in RuneScape as we provide players with significant means to shape a game they have been passionate about for more than 13 years. This journey began RuneScape 3's launch last year, which saw the start of world events where player actions determined the outcome," said executive producer Phil Mansell.

‘Dragonstone' polls will be joined by more frequent ‘Diamond' and ‘Ruby' polls, which will ask mid and low-tier players their thoughts on less significant matters. The first poll ends on January 31.
