Sony have begun inviting the media to their press conference that takes place on the eve of Gamescom on Tuesday 18 August in Cologne. The event starts at 6 pm and is scheduled to take three hours (that sounds long even for a Sony press conference).
At the old Games Convention in Leipzig Sony have often had press conferences, but they have been held on the show floor during the business only day, so the change signals they have something big to reveal. Rumours about the slim PS3 have been rampant lately and also about a possible price cut. Perhaps there will also be some major software announcements, most likely stemming from SCEE studios in that case. Killzone 3? Little Big Planet PSP?
