Vinícius Jr. is currently in the middle of crucial negotiations with Real Madrid regarding his future: either he accepts and signs a contract extension, likely until 2031 (he is now 26 years old), or the club will try to sell him to cash in him before he becomes a free agent next year. Arsenal is, of course, following the events very closely, as after yesterday's meeting they still didn't reach an agreement: the player asked 30 million euros per year, and the club offered no more than 24 million.
And suddenly, overnight, all posts disappeared from Vinícius' Instagram account, including the profile pic, which some people thought it could be a sign that the players was closer to leaving the club and his social media team was working to reflect those changes.
That is what was reported on Wednesday afternoon after a meeting between the club and the Brazilian's agents, at least, but in the most recent hours things seem to have changed: Real Madrid apparently has agreed to some of Vinícius' demands regarding his salary: maybe not in the fixed quantity, but in several bonus like those regarding the image rights.
Coach José Mourinho also took part in the negotiations according to Fabrizio Romano, asking Vinícius to stay, and now "there is optimism among both parties that this new contract", according to As. Maybe a decision will be made in the coming hours...
