GRTV: DMC Devil May Cry

American producer on reboot.
Bengt Lemne 24 July 2012

We met with Capcom USA producer Alex Jones in a closed off corner of Capcom's E3 booth to discuss the new Devil May Cry, its bosses and the reception the new Dante got.

When asked on his US perspective on the Japanese/European collaboration Jones had the following to say:

"The good thing is Ninja Theory, the developer, has a deep reverance for Devil May Cry, which is obviously one of the reasons we decided to go with them. They understand the series, more or less, way more than I did when I first came on the project, I had a lot of catching up to do. Those guys are huge DMC buffs and a lot of the designers in particular. So it's been interesting, and it's also been a massive collaboration from Capcom Japan. In a lot of ways, particularly in combat, it's almost been co-designed with Itsuno-san, who was the lead creative on 2,3, and 4, to come in and sort of provide the wisdom of how to make incredibly responsive, fluid control in games."
