Yesterday we reported on the massive demo for Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (coming in at over 36 GB) that had just been launched, but it turns out that later on it was removed in North America, with Sega taking to Twitter to explain exactly why fans could no longer access it.
"We apologize, but have had to remove the Yakuza 6: The Song of Life demo from the PlayStation Store," the developer/publisher wrote. "We are as upset as you are, and had hoped to have this demo available for everyone today. We discovered that some were able to use the demo to unlock the full game. We're looking into the nature of the issue. Thank you for your patience."
As the game isn't released for almost two months, we could totally see how this scared Sega enough to force them to take the demo down. Europe wasn't affected, however, and although it's been removed across the pond we'll still go ahead and assume there'll be plenty of leaks posted between now and April, so watch out for those.
Did you notice the demo's absence?
