Xbox is getting two really cool Gears of War: E-Day controllers

Many people probably expected a game like Gears of War: E-Day to be accompanied by a new Xbox controller, and rumours to that effect surfaced earlier this summer. Now they've been officially announced, and the question is whether the standard version might just be one of the best themed controllers ever.

For those of you who really want something extra, there's also a version available through Xbox Design Lab, where you can customise components as you like and choose from a selection of unique designs. Microsoft describes the controllers as "inspired by the symbols, scars, and battles that defined humanity's war against the Locust Horde," and you can check them out in more detail in both a trailer and the images below.

The standard controller is out now, while the Design Lab version launches on September 30. If you want to order one right away before they sell out, you can do so through the Xbox Store, among other places.
