Wargaming has revealed that a brand new update has just landed for World of Warships: Legends, including cross-platform play, ranked battles, and events coinciding with Black Friday too.

"Making sure that our players have the best experience possible is our biggest goal, so I'm excited that both sets of fans will be able to enjoy World of Warships: Legends together," says Victor Kislyi, Wargaming CEO. "This is just the first step in our cross-play efforts; it's definitely something we want to build on in the future."

Cross-platform play means PS4 and Xbox One players can enjoy World of Warships: Legends together, and this is actually the first Wargaming title to do this. Wargaming hopes it'll reduce matchmaking times without affecting gameplay either, and at the moment you can't voice chat with players on another console either, although "they are working on making it fully functional," according to the press release.

Ranked battles are a new way to play too, adding substantial rewards for playing in ranked sprints. The first sprint will feature Tier V ships, while the second has Tier IV ships.

As for the Black Friday content, there's a big sale within the game, including Black Edition ships discounted, these being the Warspite B, Scharnhorst B, and the Atlanta B. All of these feature jet-black skins, so they stand out from the crowd.

Are you excited for cross-platform play?
