Today developer Creative Assembly and publisher Sega has revealed the final playable race for Total War: Warhammer (we still think it should be called Total Warhammer).
The race is question is the Vampire Counts, and as you can tell from their white-as-a-sheet complexion, they collectively reside in the forsaken lands of Sylvania, where the sun never rises.
In a press release the development team pains a grim picture of Sylvania:
"Twisted, buckled trees and a windless mist herald the advance of a darkness that has haunted the nightmares of men for millennia. An unliving host advances, a tide of resurrected corpses, driven on by necromantic magic and the immortal will of their masters. Far from home, an Empire Witch Hunter seeking the source of this corruption will soon find that there are fates in the Old World far worse than death."
Furthermore, they explain that the Vampire Counts: "tremble before the Midnight Aristocracy. Led by Mannfred von Carstein, chief acolyte of necromantic magic and the Vampire Counts' most cunning son, battalions of age-dead soldiers march forth to claim the Old World in the name of the undead."
Check out the brand new in-game cinematic trailer for a first look at the "masters of Death magic and necromancy", and stay tuned for an exclusive Vampire Counts battle that will be streamed on Twitch tonight at midnight GMT / 01.00 CET.
