After some fighters out of the American Kickboxing Academy in San José refused to sign over lifetime rights to their likeness to THQ, top welterweight Jon Fitch, who fought champion George St. Pierre for the title this year and heavy weight Christian Wellisch were released from their UFC contracts. The UFC also threatened to cut popular fighter Josh Koscheck and heavyweight standout Cain Velasquez. 24 hours after the decision was made public Jon Fitch agreed to the terms from THQ and UFC, but there is no word so far about the rest of the fighters that were in jeopardy.

UFC 2009 Undisputed is set for release in the middle of next year and the fighters who don't sign up for it will obviously have to look for a career elsewhere.
