A brand new press release has given us fresh details on the German adventure game Trüberbrook, which will be releasing digitally for PC on March 12, while console players can get it digitally on April 17 for PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
If you prefer physical copies though you could always get a retail version including a 24-page travel guide, which is releasing on April 19.
"With its superbly unique visual style, German charm, and a thrilling story of the likes of Twin Peaks and X-Files, Trüberbrook comes as a modern adventure game appealing to fans of the genre and everyone who like to see a fresh artistic experience," the press release explains.
Its crowdfunded Kickstarter campaign gathered over $200,000 USD, and the visual style is one of the key selling points for the game. This is probably why the press release also took the chance to show us some of the handmade scenery, as you can see below.
The models themselves were made by the creators and were digitised using photogrammetry, simplified using real-time rendering afterwards. The staging for the models used real, physical lighting, and even seasons were reproduced using things like little snowflakes for winter.
Once the detailed low poly models were added into the scenes effects like light reflections, particle effects, and depth of field were also added, producing the distinct style you can see below.
Is Trüberbrook on your radar?
