A new trailer has been released by inXile Entertainment and Techland showing the setting behind the upcoming RPG, Torment: Tides of Numenera, showcasing the world that Monte Cook has crafted for the game.

The game is set a billion years in the Ninth World and humankind is attempting to understand a new technology called numenera, a technology left behind by eight previous civilisations.

Brian Fargo from inXile said "we just came back from a really successful showing at Gamescom where we were thrilled by the reception. We really appreciated both the fans who enjoyed our preview and the journalists who came to see us and praise our efforts. Winning some of the best RPG awards was a great feeling for the team. I've always had a special place in my heart for role playing games, I consider it an art form and a genre that invokes more emotions than any other. The feedback from the show energises us as we moved towards finalising the gold master for release into the wild."

REVIEW. Written by Bengt Lemne

"It's an RPG that almost borders on a visual novel given its heavy reliance on text and story over combat, grinding and character development."
