Super Smash Bros. Direct next Tuesday

Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII will be one of the highlights.

The first appearance of Cloud in HD is not going to be in Final Fantasy VII: Remake. The sword fighter will take a bow before that thanks to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

This will be one of the main topics of discussion set to feature in the Super Smash Bros. Direct that Nintendo announced for next Tuesday (December 15 at 22:00 GMT / 23:00 CET). Masahiro Sakurai will show the new challengers, Cloud and likely some others that have been chosen via an open survey.

As previously announced, this is the last online broadcast dedicated to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. We don't know if that means that Sakurai and team are set to wrap up post-launch support for the game or whether there are more DLC coming in the future. Guess we'll find out next week.
