We started hearing rumours of a Starcraft remaster last August, but they turned out to be false. Then, twelve days ago, new rumours started circulating about a May release. Those might have been spot on.

Blizzard has officially announced Starcraft: Remastered. This won't just let you play both the base game and the Brood War expansion in up to 4K resolution, but also includes re-recorded dialogue, new comic book interludes, advanced matchmaking, cloud saving, and support for eight additional languages.

The remaster is set to launch "this summer," but we're getting some nice goodies before that. Starcraft: Brood War will be updated to version 1.18 this coming week, and this update will add a bunch of bug fixes and improvements, including the ability to rebind keys; observer mode; modern anti-cheat measures; compatibility improvements for Windows 7, 8.1, and 10; and more. Don't own the game or the expansion? We have some extra good news for you. Once the update is live, Starcraft Anthology, which includes both the original game and the Brood War expansion, will be free to download and play as well.

Reading this and watching the reveal trailer below, do you think this will be a great addition to your summer plans?
