Splatterhouse developer taken off project?

As Splatterhouse (PS3/360) is closing in on completion reports are claiming that Namco Bandai have taken developer BottleRocket off the project and essentially condemning them to bankruptcy. According to Kotaku, quoting developer sources in the area Namco Bandai have taken development kits, and assets and moved the project to the internal Afro Samurai team. A strange move with only a couple of months left in production on Splatterhouse, but perhaps there is more to it than we know. The latest trailer did not exactly set the world on fire and perhaps Namco Bandai are merely trying to save something from the project? Expect more details in the coming week...
