In a recent interview with gaming magazine Famitsu (translated by KH Insider), Tetsuya Nomura from Square Enix has revealed some of the developer/publisher's plans for the near future. Most interesting to our ears is that they are planning a "big announcement" for Final Fantasy VII: Remake. Nomura says that this is preferred instead of letting out small bits of details leading up to release, which is still not officially set.
First and foremost Square Enix is gearing up for the launch of Final Fantasy XV on September 30, but speculations suggest that this big announcement will be held during the last quarter of 2016.
"I know I haven't given any information in a while, but please rest assured that work is moving forward steadily. We are currently getting specifics ready for the next information release, and just like we've done with KH2.8 this time, we plan to bring a whole lot out in one go instead of dribs and drabs, so please look forward to it. I am looking forward to the reveals myself," Nomura says.
Although speculations are nothing but exactly that, speculations, Nomura adds that we should be excited:
"I still don't know the timing for what we will be able to show you next, so I can't give any details, but please be excited."
We're not necessarily experts at interpreting Japanese translated into English, but it sounds like Nomura is giving away just enough for the speculations to be believable. Anyway, grain of salt and all that.
