Jean Maxime Moris, Dontnod's Creative Director, has told Siliconera that his team are already considering which changes they might introduce in a potential Remember Me sequel. In fact, studio writers have already written a plot:
"I would absolutely love to [work on a sequel]. We know what we would do for Remember Me 2. The main story has been written we know what we would add to the recipe. We know what we would fix. It's a game that's ready to be made, but that decision is Capcom's to make."
Remember Me carried a story that focused on problems in a futuristic society, with individuals and corporations able to manipulate people's memories. Despite being a great concept, Dontnod's first effort didn't gel quite as well as it might have, but it is certainly fertile ground.
The French outfit also managed to introduce some innovations to the beat 'em up combat system, with combos and customisable fighting moves called 'Pressens'. These were introduced alongside interesting memory-rewriting sequences. So, there were some nice ideas in Remember Me that could finally be fully realised with a proper sequel. For now, however, the studio is focused on their episodic adventure, Life is Strange.
