An ongoing Kickstarter campaign for Planetary Annihilation, the spiritual successor to Total Annihilation, has passed the two-thirds mark in its quest to attract a $900,000 USD investment on the crowdfunding website.

Planetary Annihilation

Uber, the developers behind the RTS that will literally allow you annihilate planets, has now revealed their "stretch goals," new features that they're to introduce if they meet an upwardly revised figures of $1.1 and $1.3 million dollars.

At $1.1 million they'll introduce "huge water only planets to play out all kinds of naval only scenarios... Asteroid tsunamis FTW! Some of the water units we can expect include subs, amphibious units, floating buildings and of course battleships!"

And if they reach $1.3 million we'll see "gas giants," and "a more expanded set of orbital recon units, space platforms and other types of orbital units based on your ideas will be added as well."

"It's very exciting to put Planetary Annihilation in front of RTS gamers everywhere at such an early stage, " said Uber's Jonathan Mavor. "We are burning with a passion to continue making these kinds of games and we can't wait to see Planetary Annihilation reach its funding goal so we can bring it to life."

We're very excited about the prospect of conducting war on a planetary scale, and if Uber can pull it off, Planetary Annihilation's unique spin on the genre could lead it towards real success. Definitely one for RTS fans to keep an eye on.

"It's a very good work-in-progress, but perhaps it's not quite finished just yet."
