A remake of the original Yakuza game was released earlier this year by the name of Yakuza Kiwami, and back in August we got the official announcement for Yakuza Kiwami 2, being released on December 7 in Japan. We have yet to hear about a western release date, and now comments by series localisation producers Sam Mullen and Scott Strichart have revealed we won't get more information about such a release at PlayStation Experience.

The comments were made on a Twitch stream, with the producers saying that the current focus will instead be on Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, set to launch in the west on March 20 next year.

Is this a big blow for you?
