Team Ninja's samurai action game Nioh has got its fair share of praise (you can read our review too), and the developers have now revealed some of the upcoming plans for DLC and other updates.

According to Gematsu, there will be two free updates coming in the next few months, and after that in total of three DLC packs.

In late March Nioh will get an update that adds 10 high difficulty missions including boss rush style missions, and in late April there will be a free PvP update.

Also in late April there will be a first DLC called Dragon of Tohoku. It will add have new weapons, scenarios, characters, guardian spirits, new yokai enemies, and some new stages. The second and third DLCs have not been dated, and their names are Japan's Best Warrior and Peaceful and Tranquil.

All in all it seems that Nioh is going to be a big success for Team Ninja, which is a fate well deserved considering how polished the game's combat system is. Is PvP what you're looking forward to most, or the DLCs?

REVIEW. Written by Markus Hirsilä

"Gathering and tuning loot to your liking is still one of the main attractions in Nioh. Considering how difficult Bloodshed's End is, it's also mandatory."
